Where: 534 17 Ave SW, 403-245-3333, shipandanchor.com
What: Calgary’s most well-known neighbourhood pub. It’s a gathering place for people of all types. There’s always something going on here whether it’s a rugby game on the TV screens, live music or punk rock bingo. It’s also one of the most reasonably priced pubs in the city.
Price point: Cheap. You can get a classic Ship burger and fries for $8.95. Can’t beat that! And they serve actual pints of beer instead of sleeves (becoming less and less common these days) for a good price.
Pro: Almost everything. Especially the all-season patio which is perfect for chinooks!
Con: Can get a little loud with the live music sometimes, but isn’t that the point?
