Downtown businesses looking forward to JUNOs boost

It couldn’t come at a better time.

While the City of Calgary celebrates JUNOs Week, downtown businesses are expecting to see dollar signs.

Maggie Schofield with the Downtown Calgary Association says everyone is going to see a boost from visitors here to take in the music awards show on Sunday.

“This will keep people going, and it will help get people through, and I think, as I’ve mentioned before, Calgarians are very resilient. They look forward to these, and they’ll take advantage of the opportunity, and they’ll have a great week,” she said. “So, we’re really excited about that, and really grateful for it.”

Schofield says there’s a big campaign underway by the JUNO Awards committee promoting the various events and festivities happening in the core.
