TappCar is looking to make a name for itself in Alberta’s largest city.
The ride-sharing app has already worked its way through a successful launch in Edmonton.
Spokesperson Pascal Ryffel told 660 NEWS, they are holding an information session Wednesday at a teamster’s hall to gauge interest from potential drivers.
”We could definitely make it work. We have looked at the bylaw Calgary brought forward in detail, and there are a few minor issues that we may have to talk about amongst ourselves, but for the most part, I think it will be similar to the way we operate here in Edmonton,” said Ryffel.
What sets TappCar apart from Uber is a mandatory Class 4 driver’s license and commercial insurance.
Ryffel said they have been receiving constant messages from Calgarians who would like to use their service and see them expand.
