EI claimants in the city continue to rise

The number of people collecting employment insurance in our city continues to rise.
Stats Canada says just over 21,000 people in Calgary were receiving benefits in February, a jump of two and a half per cent month over month.
Province-wide, claims are up to just over 65,000.
That number, already at a six-year high, is expected to climb as more than 32,000 Albertans filed to receive EI benefits in February.
