Government sheds light on Alberta Jobs Plan

It was already announced in the budget but the province has released some more details about the Alberta Jobs Plan and a $75 million capital investment tax credit.

Minister of Economic Development and Trade Deron Bilous said it’s a way to keep competitive with other provinces which already do this and will be available starting early 2017.

“The aim of the tax credit is to encourage large scale capital investment proejcts that will support new jobs by fostering increased economic activity,” Bilous said.

In the mean time, Bilous will be out speaking with different sectors to see where it’s needed most and gauge who should be eligible to apply.

“Preliminary program design will see the capital investment tax credit implemented as a ten per cent, non-refundable tax credit up to five million dollars,” Bilous added.
