Calgarians are heading out to parks all around the city, enjoying this year’s early spring.
And after such a mild winter in the city, the parks are in pretty good shape, and are set to get better.
Todd Reichardt, manager of Parks Centre City Region, says officials are starting to get things ready.
“The first course of action is to go out, clean up shrub beds, clean up the parks, get them ready for activities,” he said. “We have groups that are involved with initiating irigation and water systems.”
He reminds Calgarians to be aware and diligent when crossing pathways and intersections, and asking cyclists to keep within speeds of under 20 km/h.
Reichardt also asks those bringing their furry friends along with them to parks to pick up after their animals, and dispose of all materials in the proper garbage receptical.
All parks should be open by the May long weekend.
