A deck fire in the northeast has scorched the back of a home.
Calgary Fire spokesperson Carol Henke says it started just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
“We received reports from a resident in the 100 block of Saratoga Place N.E. that her deck was on fire,” she said. “When fire crews arrived, the deck was on fire and flames were spreading to the home.”
A second alarm was called but crews were able to quickly knock the fire down and it was cancelled.
The siding on the home has been melted, and the wood underneath is blackened.
Investigators are on scene trying to figure out how it started.
