Reactions continue to pour in, as people remember ‘The Champ,’ Muhammad Ali.
Peter Brodsky got the chance to meet the three-time heavyweight champion when Ali made a stop in Calgary in 1985.
Brodsky says he was very lucky to get the opportunity to meet the ‘Louisville Lip.’
“To get a call, and basically get a private audience with one of the most iconic athletes of our time, I was a 20 year old kid and I couldn’t be happier. I sat at the side of the chair he was sitting in and we talked about sports, we spoke about life, he was a very philosophical man. He had thoughts on religion and society, and for a 20 year old kid who remembers his bouts, it was just an incredible opportunity to meet him face to face,” Brodsky said.
Brodsky says he sat and talked with Ali for several hours and that the meeting happened because his cousin became good friends with Ali after meeting him several times in Las Vegas.
Brodsky adds Ali was such a warm and kind person and will be greatly missed.
