Thousands expected to attend Global Petroleum Show

It’s one of Calgary’s biggest events, and even with the economic downturn, thousands will be streaming into the city.
The Global Petroleum Show takes over the Stampede Grounds Tuesday through Thursday.
Wes Scott, Executive Vice President with DMG Events says they’re still on pace with last year’s attendance numbers.
“We’re on track to have 50,000 attendees at the show. Certainly not the best ever we’ve ever had, but given the market conditions, we’re pretty excited about that,” he said.
However, foreign representation is down.
Scott says delegates from about 85 countries will be in Calgary for the event, which is down 15 per cent from last year.
