Keep your bike locked and secure this summer

It can be a real bummer.
Heading out on a nice day, ready to use the bike paths or the cycle track, only to find your two wheels are missing.
However, there are a ways to keep your bicycle from being subject to one of the many thefts that happen during the summer months.
Darren Mazzei with Bike Calgary says it’s worth it to take that extra minute to make sure your bike is securely locked.
That means even in storage areas or parking garages, your ride could be at risk.
“Most people forget that people can gain access to those quite easily and they’re not supervised, so they should still be locking up their bikes even in those locations.
He says don’t use a cable lock alone, as the best kind is a u-lock attached to the wheel and the frame.
Also, think about registering your bike. That way if it is stolen, police have a better chance of returning it to you.
