RCMP search for missing Hinton hiker

RCMP are asking the public for help to find a Hinton man who never returned home from a solo hiking trip.

Thirty-year-old Roy Seney was last seen around 10 a.m. Friday, and last heard from via text around 1 p.m. that same day.

He was planning on hiking from Pembina Ave. to the Bighorn Tr. off of Coal Creek and Robb Rd.

Seney’s family says he is not an experienced hiker, and did not pack enough necessities to get through more than one day of hiking.

He is described as white, with reddish-brown hair, blue eyes and a full beard.

He was last seen wearing glasses, black shoes with white soles, blue jeans, a red MMA style shirt with the word “Untamed” on the front, and a black leather hooded jacket. He was also carrying a light blue and orange hiking backpack.

Anyone who may have information on Seney’s whereabouts is asked to contact Hinton RCMP at 1-780-865-2455.
