Flames ready draft picks

All eyes in the hockey world are on Buffalo Friday night.
The NHL Entry Draft gets underway, as teams look to bolster their future with talented young players, or trade the picks to help their clubs right away.
Sportsnet 960’s Pat Steinberg says all cards are in play for the Calgary Flames, with plenty of options.
“They’ve got number six overall, and then three picks in the second round, and it kind of gives them the opportunity to package up some of those picks and maybe acquire a roster player,” he said.
That is exactly what they did last year when the club traded for Defenceman Dougie Hamilton using a package of picks.
If they don’t trade number six over all, who will they target?
“They need forwards right now,” Steinberg said. “They don’t really have a top prospect forward anymore.”
Steinberg says the draft is a deep one with scouts believing the first 14 to 18 picks could yield solid NHL players.
