An online petition calling for a second referendum regarding BRexit has garnered over three million signatures in just four days.
It calls for a second vote if the voter turnout is under 75 per cent, and if the results are under 60 per cent.
On Thursday, 72.2 per cent of British voters came out, and voted 51.9 per cent in favour of leaving the European Union.
The British House of Commons website, which hosts the petition, crashed due to high activity the next day.
Ironically, the petition was actually created over a month ago, by a BRexit supporter.
He has since taken to social media to distance himself from the petition, saying it’s now been “hijacked” by those who wanted to remain in the EU.
By law, any petition that reaches over 100,000 signatures must be debated by British politicians.
However, despite the seemingly large amount of support, experts say a second referendum is unlikely.
