It looked a little like winter-time in Okotoks after Tuesday night’s storm passed through the town south of Calgary.
Piles of hail were left on the ground as residents emerged to survey the damage from the storm.
“It looks like my roof is hurting. One of my friends has holes in his siding and holes in his sunroof and on his house. Tree branches are down all over town,” said Bob Harrity.
He believes the hail came down for roughly 20 minutes. “In low lying areas, there’s still, in places, hail probably in the vicinity of 30 centimetres deep,” said Harrity.

The massive hail storm blanketed the community with marble-sized rocks.
One social media user says the accumulation was still significant, even an hour after the storm had rolled through the area.
