Calgary Humane Society hosts emergency cat adoption event

By

The Calgary Humane Society is putting on a two day emergency adoption event.

The animal shelter is asking people to stop by and take home a cat.

So far this year, 2,770 animals have been admitted to the shelter, 1,690 of those cats, with many of those surrendering their family pet blaming the economic downturn.

That’s 185 more cats admitted to the shelter compared to the same time period in 2015.

People can adopt cats seven months or older for a donation.

The two day adoption event goes Wednesday and Thursday between noon and 7 p.m.
