Three year old dies during family camping trip

A family’s long weekend camping trip near Pincher Creek has been cut short due to a horrible tragedy.

Pincher Creek RCMP says the group just finished setting up their trailer in the Castle Falls forestry area Thursday evening, when the father went to back up his vehicle and accidentally ran over his three year old son.

The child was taken to Pincher Creek hospital, 40 km away from the campsite in serious condition, but upon arrival he was pronounced deceased.

Alcohol was not a factor in this incident and charges are not being considered.
