Falling camera equipment injures three people at Calgary Stampede

Three people were taken to hospital after camera equipment fell on them at the Calgary Stampede.
Jennifer Booth with the Stampede says they were alerted to the incident in the bleacher area of the Grandstand around 8 Wednesday evening.
“A television camera apparatus fell and unfortunately struck some of our guests in the Grandstand, CPS and our medical team was on scene quickly to provide care and control the scene, AHS responded and took three people to hospital with what ems is describing as soft tissue injuries.” Booth said.
Adam Loria with EMS says the three men treated included a middle-age man and two people in their late teens or early 20’s.
“When these individuals were injured we responded and worked closely with the medical team to get to the patients in an area where there is a large number of people and extract them.” Loria said.
It is not clear what factors led up to the camera equipment falling.
Booth says they are investigating the incident.
Calgary police confirm Occupational, Health and Safety are also conducting their own investigation.
