New program assists low-income Albertans

For financially struggling Albertans, H.E.L.P, standing for ” Home Energy Low-Income Program” is on the way.
Sponsor Energy has launched a new intiative to help people who are dealing with energy poverty.
CEO Carolyn Martin tells 660 NEWS about the groups that will benefit from their unique social innovation model.
“We have formal partnerships on the H.E.L.P program with the YWCA and all of their low-income housing, Calgary Homeless Foundation, Airdrie Food Bank, Children’s Link, Hull Services, The Alex. So we work with groups, to work with their clients, who may be struggling and in need of such a program.”
Martin says families shouldn’t be forced to decide if they pay their energy bill or put food on the table.
