Charges laid in March pedestrian death

One person is facing charges after hitting and killing a 67-year-old pedestrian earlier this year.

Calgary police were called to the scene just after 10 p.m. March 17, 2016.

Police say the woman was walking south across 8 Avenue from the northeast corner of 47 Street SE in a marked crosswalk.

She was then struck by a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica that was travelling east on 8 Avenue.

The woman died in hospital.

Chol Chol, 31, is charged with careless driving and failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk.
