July rainfall, way above average for the month

July 2016 will definitely go down as one of the wettest months on record in Calgary.
So far this month almost 180 mm of rain has fallen and that doesn’t include what comes down Sunday. On average in July the city gets 68 mm of precipitation.
“Certainly a wet one, and particularly when you stack it up to last year,” says 660 NEWS Meteorologist Andrew Schultz. “July 2015, 56 mm of rain…so last year had 12 (mm) less than average.”
This month has also been a little cooler than normal.
“We had our spikes most definitely but it’s not going to go down as the warmest month, but certainly the wettest July on record,” says Schultz.
The average daytime high for July is 23 degrees, but this year it has been running at 22.4 degrees.
