Charges pending against older brother in missing child case

RCMP have found and located an eight year old girl who was reported missing from a Calgary neighbourhood early Wednesday morning.
They believe she was taken by her 19 year old brother from Greenview.
Police were called in around 5:30, when their family woke to find the two and the family vehicle missing.
Investigators quickly learned the suspect was driving west through British Columbia.
The C.P.S. requested help from the RCMP and found the car just outside of Hope, B.C..
Officers stopped it in Abbotsford and took the two into custody, the child hasn’t been hurt in this case.
Charges are pending against the brother as investigators try to determine his motive.
They’re not releasing the name of either one to protect the privacy of the family.
The father of the girl has been flown out to be reunited with his daughter on a flight arranged by the Missing Children Society of Canada and WestJet.
His son will be returned to Alberta by police later this week.
According to the news release from police, an AMBER alert was nearly issued in the case but they were able to find the child before they could even determine if this case met the criteria.
