A female wolf, who continues to show aggressive behaviour, has prompted a warning for Banff National Park.
Greg Danchuck with Parks Canada says, the two-year-old, has become accustomed to human food and they’ve issued restrictions for the Two Jack Main Campground and Two Jack Lake.
“She appears to be very food conditioned — displaying a lot of bold behaviours towards visitors. She’s not responding to any of the aversive conditioning and continues to return to these campsites repeatedly,” said Danchuck.
“We’ve put a restrictive activity order, we call it, basically we’ve moved all tents out of those two campgrounds. We’re just using hard sided type of camping equipment there only. We’ve stopped all incoming and new reservations for those two campgrounds as well,”
They are currently monitoring the wolf, and will decided whether to catch and release, or put down the animal once it’s been located.
