The NDP MLA for Banff Cochrane is heading to Madison, Wisconsin to take part in a leadership program at Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development.
It’s a training program for legislators and it’s enticed lawmakers from 11 states and 4 Canadian provinces.
According to the government’s news release, the annual five-day program helps them develop the skills they need to be effective leaders.
It also allows them to share best policy practices and discuss regional issues.
“As our government moves ahead to diversify and green the Alberta economy, effective governance results in polices, legislation and programs that help Albertans and Alberta companies thrive. This fellowship offers an important opportunity to learn,” said Westhead.
The program will come at a cost, the estimated price tag for his trip to Madison will be $1,970.
