#MobileMuslims exhibition heading to Calgary

A Muslim group is hauling a trailer across the country, trying to clear up the misconceptions about its faith.

The #MobileMuslims campaign started in St. John’s, Newfoundland on July 13 and has been making its way across Canada. A truck hauling the exhibition will be stopping at several locations in Calgary on Tuesday as a way to counter extremist messages.

“The teachings of Islam are something which (is) very different from what you see, some people claim and do in the name of Islam,” explained Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at spokesperson Taha Syed. “It’s very important to let people know, to inform them, the real teachings of Islam are actually something else. It’s a religion of peace and tolerance.”

Representatives are encouraging the public to stop by and ask any questions before the mobile exhibition continues on its journey west.
