Good news for drivers on Crowchild Trail.
Work on the interchange at Flanders Avenue is running smooth and on schedule, despite a very stormy summer.
Senior Transportation Engineer Nik Danilov says construction isn’t just on time, it’s on budget.
“Rain did have some impact, but did not significantly delay the project,” he said.
However, there is some other work that needs to be completed.
“The roadway and the traffic circle on the east side of the interchange, the interchange ramps, some finish-up work on the bridge, installation of overhead guide signs, and some minor work like paint lines and minor signage,” Danilov said.
The construction that’s slowed down drivers since September 2015 should be wrapping up in the next couple months.
The new interchange is expected to be open to traffic in early November.
