Calgarians hopeful fall will make up for wet, cool summer

September 22nd may be the first day of fall, but many are saying good-bye to the summer season, with a soggy and cool Labour Day long weekend.
The early September holiday is often viewed as the emotional end to summer.
“It’s not optimal, but you got to take what you can get, I guess,” one woman said Friday morning, referring to a wetter and cooler summer than she hoped for.
“It’s been a little bit wet,” one man said, “I’m looking forward to some nicer days, hopefully in the fall.” He admits summer “went by quickly and not very warm.”
Weather forecasts suggest the extra day off won’t buck that trend. 660 NEWS meteorologist, Andrew Schultz, from Breakfast Television on City, reminds football fans to layer-up for Monday’s Labour Day Classic. Temperatures are forecast in the mid-teens ahead of the CFL date between the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos.
