Motorists can expect construction for long weekend

Many Calgarians will sit back and relax for the final long weekend of summer 2016, but be prepared for construction delays.
Crews will be hard at work.
Chris McGeachy with the City of Calgary says the most expansive work will happen along Edmonton Trail, between Memorial Drive and 16th Avenue.
“I should caution that it’s weather permitting,” he said, “we do need warm and dry weather for paving to happen.” Motorists can expect single lane travel in both directions on Edmonton trail between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
There is some good news: work on Macleod Trail will break until late Monday night. “Crews have actually been working at nighttime during the week, so this weekend is actually a weekend off,” McGeachy confirmed, “they’ll resume night work on Monday night.”
Work will continue in the northeast around Airport Trail and Barlow Trail.
