Calgarians can check out a couple of classic Canadian bands and support a good cause this weekend.

April Wine and Loverboy will play the Grey Eagle Casino Saturday, September 17, in a benefit concert to support veterans.

Canadian Legacy Project Founder and President David Howard says proceeds from the night of music will go to the Forces@Work program which helps veterans find jobs when they get home.

“We have a lot of our younger vets coming back from Afghanistan — they’re coming back and they’re having a hard time getting jobs. We have a lot of our veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and so, what we’re trying to do is be there as an assistant,” Howard said.

The program has helped more than 500 veterans and their families so far.
