Getting your furnace ready for fall

The first day of autumn is just two days away, and that means colder weather is approaching.

ATCO says it’s a good time to think about your furnace.

Spokesperson Dan Nicolajsen tells 660 NEWS, they recommend a new filter.

“It’s a good idea in the heating season, you know probably September through ’til end of March, early April that you, you know, look and inspect that furnace filter on a regular basis and change it as required, which could be as much as even monthly in the heating season, depending on how cool it is,” he said.

Nicolajsen says also make sure the area around the furnace is clear of clutter to ensure good air circulation.
