Premier Notley sees rise in approval: report

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – As Alberta’s election campaign heats up, there’s some good news for Rachel Notley in terms of approval.
According to a new poll by Angus Reid Notley’s approval rating jumped to 40 per cent this month.
That’s compared to 33 per cent in March of 2018.
According to Angus Reid, Notley’s approval was as high as 53 per cent when the NDP formed government in 2015 and as low of 28 per cent in June of 2017.
Despite the rise in approval, Notley still sits behind other premiers including BC NDP Premier John Horgan at 52 per cent and Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe at 59 per cent.
The premier with the highest approval rating is Quebec’s Francois Legault at 60 per cent. Legault and the Coalition Avenir Québec formed government last October when they won a majority government in the Quebec election.

Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil had the lowest approval rating in the poll at just 24 per cent, compared to 57 per cent when McNeil and the Liberals first formed government in 2013.
