What’s next for Calgary’s fieldhouse project?

CALGARY (660 NEWS) – While the city still recovers from finalizing the budget another major project will come under review Monday.
Earlier this year council approved nearly $20 million for a fieldhouse project expected to be built in Foothills Athletic Park.

Several members of council will be meeting with leaders from the University of Calgary, McMahon Stadium Society, and Sport Calgary to discuss what’s next for the project.
Some are questioning whether the city still has money to put towards projects like the fieldhouse when there have been several conversations about the need to reduce spending.
Calgary’s Multisport Fieldhouse Society has been pushing for this facility for years.
In 2017, City council voted not to support the Calgary NEXT project would have built an arena, stadium and fieldhouse in the West Village along the Bow River.
