CALGARY — A man who died shortly after being dropped off at the Peter Lougheed Centre over the weekend has now been identified.
Twenty-year-old Mayiel Deng Kiir was dropped at the hospital around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday and died not long after.
Police believe Kiir had been in some form of altercation at a home in Highland Park, along 42 Avenue, which resulted in him being critically injured.

“Our investigators have been working tirelessly since Saturday to identify a potential suspect,” says Staff Sergeant Colin Chisolm of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit in a release on Tuesday. “We are still in the process of examining all evidence, including CCTV that has been collected, and encourage anyone with information to contact police.”
Police are still looking to speak with anyone who may have information on what led to Kiir’s death.
