Calgary releases information on Phase 1 of Green Line LRT project

The request for qualification for the most technically complex section of the new Green Line LRT project has been released by the city.
Phase 1 infrastructure includes:
????️ 18 kms of LRT track
???? 13 stations (4 underground + 2 elevated)
???? LRT tunnel in Downtown
???? LRT bridge structures
???? 3 park and ride facilities

For Phase 1—which stretches from Shepard to Eau Claire—Calgary will need to build 18 kilometers of LRT track to form the core of the project, which will then expand to the north and south in the future.

This leg of the development will connect Calgary’s southeast to the downtown and into the existing LRT infrastructure, and includes 13 stations, underground and elevated station buildings, bridges, three Park and Ride facilities, and a maintenance storage facility for light rail vehicles.
