Crash east of Calgary results in life-threatening injuries

Two people have been taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash east of Calgary Tuesday.

The Airdrie Rural RCMP says the crash, which involved a semi and a smaller vehicle, happened in the area of Highway 9 and Highway 564 around 2 p.m.

“There are multiple injured parties,” the RCMP wrote in a release.

First responders have confirmed to CityNews one of the patients was transported by STARS Air to Foothills Hospital, while the other was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance.
