3 face trafficking charges in Grande Prairie drug bust: RCMP

By CityNews Staff

An Edmonton man is among three who face drug trafficking charges after RCMP say they seized drugs and nearly $25,000 in cash in Grande Prairie.

A search warrant was executed on March 14 for a home in the Countryside South area of the city.

Mounties, with the help of RCMP Police Dog Services and their crime reduction unit, say they seized 110 grams of cocaine, $23,378 in cash, and “drug trafficking paraphernalia.”

Edmonton’s Jamal Mustafa, 19, is facing possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime charges, along with 56-year-old Lenz Thorsten from Sangudo, and 45-year-old Dawn Purschke of Whitecourt.

RCMP say the accused have been released on condition, and are expected to appear in court on April 29.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700, local police, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
