The city is asking for nominations for the 2025 Calgary Awards, that recognize those dedicated to improving the community.

The City of Calgary says it’s now taking nominations for the 2025 Calgary Awards.

Mayor Jyoti Gondek says the awards are an opportunity to recognize Calgarians “whose wavering dedication and integrity make our city incredible.”

“Let’s come together to honour these remarkable individuals and organizations with a Calgary Award,” she said.

The awards are being offered in five categories, which are accessibility, the environment, international achievement, the W.O. Mitchell Book Prize, and community achievement,

The last one features nine awards, including Calgarian of the Year and the Grant McEwan Lifetime Achievement award.

The nomination period ends on Jan. 26, with the winners being announced in June. The W.O. Mitchell Book Prize submissions finished on Dec. 2.

More information about the award criteria and to access the nomination forms can be found online.
