Suspected impaired driver crashed into their own home in SW Calgary: CPS

Calgary police think drug impairment may have been a factor after a man drove a car into his own home Wednesday afternoon.

A driver is in custody after an SUV crashed into the side of a house in southwest Calgary on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to a home on Shannon Square SW, near Shawnessy Blvd and James McKevitt Rd, around 1:30 p.m. for reports of a crash.

Police arrived to find a white SUV had struck the corner of the front garage of a home. Officers learned the driver got out of the vehicle and went inside the same house.

Investigators believe the driver is a resident of the home.
