Police seize $74K in drugs, charge two in SW Calgary drug bust

Police have laid multiple charges and seized a large quantity of drugs and cash following a drug trafficking investigation in southwest Calgary.
In August 2025, officers launched an investigation into a woman suspected of drug trafficking. The probe resulted in a search warrant executed on Oct. 17 at a home on 23 Avenue near 1 Street SW.
During the search, police seized drugs with an estimated street value of around $74,000, including:
- 465.4 grams of suspected fentanyl
- 83.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine
- 46.6 grams of suspected cocaine
- 42.1 grams of suspected heroin
- $4,600 in Canadian currency
Officers also arrested a man at the scene who was wanted on 14 outstanding warrants, including a Canada-wide immigration warrant.
As a result of the investigation, Michelle Ellen Binning, 34, has been charged with four counts of possession of controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000.
Daniel Issaias Solis-Poot, 26, faces one count of obstructing a peace officer and one count of breach of a release order.
