A man from Calgary is dead following a crash on Highway 2 near High River Tuesday afternoon.

RCMP say around 1 p.m., officers were called to a serious collision on Highway 2 south of Highway 23.

Early investigation suggests a vehicle driving south hit a tow truck that was trying to remove a vehicle from the centre median.

The driver of the tow truck was outside of the vehicle and wasn’t hurt.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 58-year-old Calgary resident, died as a result of his injuries on scene.

The southbound lane of Highway 2 wasn’t passable for some time due to the incident. It has since reopened to traffic.
