A hit-and-run in northwest Calgary left one person injured and a vehicle flipped onto its side on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 1:40 p.m. near Hunterview Drive and 78 Avenue NW, where officers arrived to find a vehicle overturned and the driver still inside.
The Calgary Fire Department says firefighters stabilized the vehicle and a damaged light post before accessing the interior through the rear hatch.
Crews determined there were no significant injuries to the driver and then helped unbuckle their seat belt, which allowed them to crawl out of the vehicle safely.
The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are looking for a Toyota Corolla they believe may have been involved in the crash. The vehicle is believed to have sustained damage to the right-rear passenger side before fleeing the area.
The investigation is ongoing.
