A Calgary police officer has been fired after being found to have shared intimate videos of a fellow officer without her consent.

Const. Mike Oakey was dismissed from the force following a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday morning.

The decision follows allegations that Oakey made sexual advances toward an individual, as well as earlier misconduct that had already placed him under scrutiny.

Oakey was previously demoted in 2024 after pleading guilty to sharing a video with other officers of himself and a female colleague engaged in sexual activity. He also admitted to distributing nude photos of the same woman in 2018 and 2019, according to multiple reports.

Oakey has the right to appeal the decision, according to Calgary police. Until then, he remains relieved from duty without pay.
