Warm, windy weather prompts widespread fire advisories across Southern Alberta

Dry, windy, and unusually warm conditions have prompted Alberta Wildfire to issue a series of fire advisories and restrictions across southern Alberta, including the Calgary Forest Area west of the city.
Officials say the elevated fire risk means anyone planning burning projects should delay them until conditions improve.
All existing fire permits in several regions, including East and West Rocky View County, have been suspended, and no new permits will be issued for now.
The warnings come as crews battle three wildfires northwest of Cochrane. One of the fires is classified as out of control, while two others are being held.
Alberta Wildfire is urging anyone who conducted a burn earlier this winter to revisit the site and ensure it is fully extinguished, noting that dormant fires can reignite under the current weather pattern.
Fire restrictions vary by location, and residents are encouraged to check local guidelines before burning.
