Motorcycle gang activity on the rise across Alberta, RCMP warns

A renewed presence of motorcycle gangs on Alberta’s roads has prompted warnings from law enforcement.

Alberta RCMP says Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, including Satan’s Choice and the Hells Angels, are becoming more active this spring, with officers warning the public to expect more riders on highways, at gas stations, and at weekend events.

The increase is tied to growing gang membership and the potential for conflict between rival groups, police say.

Mounties warn that Satan’s Choice has been expanding across Canada and is now gaining traction in Alberta. RCMP officials say that growth could heighten tensions and raise the risk of violent disputes with established gangs such as the Hells Angels.

Officers are urging the public to avoid gang gatherings and steer clear of locations where members congregate.

Police in Alberta are increasing enforcement efforts to reduce gang‑related crime and maintain public safety on the roads.

Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to contact local police. Crimes in progress should be reported to 911, and anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
