Suspect SUV photos released in deadly shooting outside Calgary grocery store

More details from Calgary Police on Monday night's fatal shooting outside a NE grocery store.

Calgary police have released new photos of an SUV believed to be connected to a fatal shooting outside a grocery store earlier this week.

Emergency crews were called to the North Hill Co‑op parking lot on 16 Avenue NE around 7:50 p.m. on Monday.

Officers arrived to find two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, who police say was known to them and was the intended target, later died in hospital.

The second victim, described by investigators as an uninvolved bystander, attempted to flee before he was struck. He remains in hospital in stable condition and is expected to recover.

Police say two shooters were involved and fled the area immediately after the attack. No arrests have been made.

Investigators have now released CCTV images of a suspect vehicle. It is described as a white SUV with a partially broken, tape‑covered rear passenger‑side window.

Investigators are asking anyone who was dashcam footage between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Monday, from the area of the grocery store heading east along 16 Avenue NE toward Strathmore, to contact the non‑emergency line at 403‑266‑1234.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
