2 arrested after violent, targeted attack injured 4 in Airdrie: RCMP

Airdrie RCMP have charged two men after a collision and multiple shots that were fired in the city last week.

Airdrie RCMP are investigating a violent, targeted attack that left four people injured early Friday morning.

Officers were called around 2:30 a.m. to Bayside Boulevard and 8 Street after reports of a crash and multiple shots being fired.

Police say a white Dodge caravan was chased by several suspect vehicles, forced off the road, and hit a tree when shots were fired.

Investigators say one of the suspect vehicles then drove over a person “intentionally” who was trying to take cover.

Three people suffered minor injuries, and one person was seriously hurt.

Two Calgary men, 25-year-old Khaled Ismail and 24-year-old Husein Chahine, are now charged with aggravated assault, dangerous driving, and possessing a firearm in a vehicle.

Both remain in custody and appear in court on May 21.

Anyone with information or footage from the area is asked to contact the Airdrie RCMP at 403-945-7267 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play store.
