Man in custody after string of break-ins in SE Calgary

Calgary police are asking for the public’s help to locate a man wanted in connection with several overnight break-ins in the city's southeast.

Calgary police say a man wanted in connection with several overnight break-ins has been found and taken into custody.

Investigators say the incidents happened in the early morning hours of May 1 in the two southeast communities of Maple Ridge and Willow Park.

Around 1:30 a.m., a man was captured on a security camera leaving a home on Maple Grove Place SE with electronics after previously entering the residence.

At about 3:22 a.m., the same suspect is believed to have broken into a utility trailer on Willowgreen Drive SE, stealing sporting equipment and unopened oil containers.

Then around 5 a.m., the suspect reportedly entered a parked white 2012 Jeep Wrangler on Maplecreek Drive SE. Police say nothing was taken from the vehicle.

Police say the suspect, 32‑year‑old Dylan Joseph Durant, is now in custody.

Anyone with information about Durant’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 403‑266‑1234. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers.
