Shooting in Beltline park leaves man with serious injuries

A man was rushed to hospital in serious condition after a shooting in Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood on Wednesday. Officers detained several people for questioning, though they have not confirmed whether any of them were involved.

A man was rushed to hospital in serious condition after a shooting in Calgary’s Beltline neighbourhood on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to Connaught Park on 14 Avenue SW near 11 Street around 3:55 p.m. for reports of gunfire.

A man was found injured at the scene. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers detained several people for questioning, though they have not confirmed whether any of them were involved.

The investigation is ongoing.
