Measles exposure alert issued for SW Calgary medical clinic

Alberta Health has issued another measles exposure alert in Calgary linked to a medical clinic in the city’s southwest.

Officials say the potential exposure occurred at Rockyview Westhills Medical Clinic in Signal Hill on May 11.

Anyone who was in the clinic between 10:06 a.m. and 12:31 p.m. on that day may have been exposed to the virus.

The province warns that people born in or after 1970 who have fewer than two documented doses of a measles‑containing vaccine, or who have never had measles, may be at risk.

Those individuals may be asked to take precautions if they visit a healthcare facility. They are urged to monitor for symptoms and review their immunization records.

The alert comes as Alberta records 316 confirmed measles cases so far this year, including 10 in the Calgary zone.
