Woman dies after being struck by commercial vehicle in SW Calgary

A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in southwest Calgary on Friday afternoon, police say.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Bow Trail and 37 Street SW around 3:45 p.m. for reports that someone had been struck by a vehicle.
Police say a woman in her 30s was strolling across a crosswalk when she was struck by a commercial truck turning into the intersection.
She was rushed to Foothills Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver — a man in his 60s — remained at the scene, according to police. He suffered no injuries.
Investigators believe speed and impairment aren’t factors in the collision.
The intersection of Bow Trail and 37 Street was closed while they investigated.
