A home in Okotoks has seen escalating vandalism after online posts have connected the address to a man accused in a major child-exploitation case.
Neighbours say social media posts have circulated linking the house in the town’s Sheep River area to 35‑year‑old Corey Airhart, a man charged earlier this month in a case involving more than 500,000 child‑sexual‑exploitation files.
The home has become a target since Airhart’s arrest and release, with police saying they are now investigating several reports of mischief at the residence.

Neighbours tell CityNews the vandalism has included broken eggs, smashed windows and, most recently, spray‑paint damage reported Sunday night.
They also say Airhart no longer lives at the home. Some area residents did not want to speak with CityNews, adding that the situation has divided opinion in the community about how to react to the case.
“It ruins it for everybody else who lives in the neighborhood,” says resident Kim Elliott. “It does absolutely nothing, because he’s already under the eye of the law.
“I think it just makes it so that it’s uncomfortable for the neighbors who live here, and it also encourages copycats.”

Airhart was charged with possessing and accessing the massive amount of child sexual‑abuse materials following a lengthy investigation.
RCMP put out a warning shortly after the case was made public, warning that any “vigilante” action from residents will not be tolerated.
“With two young kids at home, and just being in the area, it’s definitely a shell shock,” says resident Pierre. “Ever since we found out about this, I’m kind of surprised that, you know, it hasn’t been taken care of a little bit more urgently.”
Police say are reminding residents that allegations and criminal charges must be handled through the justice system, and anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to contact RCMP.
